Tweens Group

Wednesdays – 5:30pm

2nd & 3rd Sundays after song service.

Testimony from the Teacher, Sister Anita Lane

Tweens is held on the 2nd and 3rd Sunday of the month for ages 8 through 12 years of age.  We gather after the singing of the main service and study the word of god together.

The other Sundays of the month we want the tweens to be a part of the main service and experience and enjoy the preaching and depth of the word of god.  We encourage them to take notes during the preaching.  Sometimes questions arise from what the tweens have heard or just something that is on their mind pertaining to the word of god.  Because of these questions, tweens on Wednesday night was started in august of 2016.

A mother approached me one day and said her girls had some questions and wondered if we could meet before church on Wednesday night and talk. I encouraged the girls to write their questions down and we would answer them with God’s help according to the word of god.

We met that Wednesday and they enjoyed the meeting so much they wanted to know if we could meet again.  Others heard what we were doing and wanted to join also.  We now meet every Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m.

Any questions the tweens have they write down on paper and hand them to me.   A booklet is then made with their name on it and their questions are answered using the word of god.  Each person has a booklet as we study the questions together.  Their question then leads to an in-depth study for the whole class. Questions such as, how can we listen for the voice of god?  How do we know when god is talking to us? What are the different kinds of water in the bible?  Who wrote the king James version?

We then tell a story to make an impact on what we have studied and bring their question down to their everyday life.

We also do memorization of the bible.  It is amazing to hear the tweens quote all the books of the bible, psalms 23, the whole chapter of psalms 1 and many other scriptures.  They are challenged, and prizes are given for their hard work.  Of course, they also enjoy snack time consisting of milk and doughnuts or muffins.

We now have those who attended bible school and wanted to join the class.   We welcome any tween to join the class and bring their questions.
